The river's running fast right now.
It's the time of year the water cleanses itself.
Running wild, but always in control.
And now's the time to sever the ties.
To habits that weaken, disguised by tradition.

Drain away this fear,
Until it disappears.
Yeah!
I'm not ready to swim, I'm not going to sink.
I just want to float through the sea.
Are you pulling me down?
Are you holding me up?
Or are you slowly drowning me?

There's something to be said for luck.
It's better than being good.
When half of being good is being lucky, anyways.
We're spreading out, we're harder to hit.
Become a moving target,
Drop your burden,
And abandon it.

I remember a day when I could walk right down the street
And feel so confident, and know everything's okay.
Take my hand, don't let go, but please remember, hearts can grow.

my grandma is doing well. the doctor said she is doing as well as can be expected and they think they got all the cancer so as long as the don't find any new stuff at her future checkups she is in the clear, so yay for my best grandma ever.

my grandma had her surgery, they think they were able to get all the cancer, but of course you never know. she still has to do the radiation and everything so please keep praying, but at least so far they think it is going good!

It got down to 36 here this morning. A whopping 30 with wind chill. And I had the news on while I was getting ready for work and they literally spent 25 minutes talking about how cold it was. They were interviewing people at dunking donuts (drinking coffee to stay warm) and people at walmart buying warm clothes to bundle up! And the traffic man actually said, "it's just too cold to go outside, you better stay home if you can today."
hahaha

help [Nov. 28th, 2007|05:29 pm]
[mood | stressed]

gabriel has been trying really hard to get a better job or a second job. please pray that he gets it because otherwise i don't know how we are going to make ends meet. i absolutely love my new job here, it is seriously my dream job except that as everyone always says teachers don't do it for the money. cost of living is so much more down here that we are really struggling, we never have enough money to pay the bills on time and then the late fees pile up and add on. so anyway please pray.

[mood | good]

last weekend we went to philly for erin's wedding. she was beautiful and i am so happy for her. it was good to see people i haven't seen in a long time, except that it made me miss them even more. especially kayla. she is my favorite. and i drug gabriel all around philly which he decided he does not like due to the lack of parking. but ruphus liked it.

we got a new car. it's a 2007 toyota yaris, black, 4 door, manuel (which means i am still learning how to drive it) and it gets 41 miles per gallon (highway) it's pretty much amazing. my 1st new car ever. after 4 crappy used ones it is so nice. of course it comes with car payments for the next 3 years but at least it will last us a while.

http://www.toyota.com/yaris/exterior.html

we were planning to get the 2-door hatchback because it was cheaper but the salesman "got the wrong one" but really it was a bait and switch because he wanted to talk us into paying more for the 4 door. to make a long story short after a day of arguing with him and chuck the sales manager. we got the 4 door, for the 2 door price. hot diggity damn. and we love it. and it is fun to drive even though i still stall it sometimes.

and we are still in baltimore watchin the kiddos who are getting so big.

cars [Jul. 6th, 2007|01:37 pm]
well the new(used) car pooped on us, yes we bought a 250 dollar maza 323 1991 in the hopes it would last us til florida and then we could get something else when we got down there and saved up a little bit of money. but it lasted about 3 weeks so instead of buying shitty car after shitty car and keep having them break down we decided it might be a better investment to borrow some money and get a decent car. we've been looking around and are hopefully going to get a toyota yaris 2007. 41 miles per gallon(if you don't know the yaris replaced the tercel) and it's a nice little 2 door car. we were pretty much surprised at how much a not-crappy but nice used car was, and it's only a couple thousand more to get a new one since it's the end of the 2007 model year. we figured if we are going to have to borrow money anyway might as well borrow a little more, get a new one which comes with a 5 year warantee so we should be set for a little while anyway, i'm excited but i also officially HATE car shopping and goofy car salesmen.

movin [Jun. 3rd, 2007|05:03 pm]
[mood | excited]

We are moving to Florida! I got an awesome job offer to teach 2nd grade at Gaines Academy in St. Lucie County. The school is in Ft. Pierce so that is where we will be living. It's pretty close to the beach so Gabriel is excited about that. We haven't found an apartment yet or anything we plan to go down at the end of June for a weekend or so and apartment hunt. It pays more than Buffalo and there is no state income tax. It's a brand new school with state of the art everything. The principal is freaking awesome and I am super excited. They also are willing to hire Gabriel as a custodian and will pay 2/3 of his school so he can start college which is awesome. (We had been on the fence about moving down there but then we had a faculty meeting at school and they are cutting one class from each grade next year due to decreased enrollment so I am the 1st one to go since I am the newest one hired so that pretty much made our decision for us) Anyway it is an awesome opportunity and we are super excited, the only things i am NOT excited for is that i am scared of hurricanes and i know i will miss everyone from home.

and since no one knows where Ft. Pierce is here you go frickers:
